Blazers are exhibited in all their glory at Gooodwood Revival

Goodwood revival is an action-packed weekend of historic motor racing, period theatre, excellent music and some serious fashion. The 12th - 14th September sees the Goodwood circuit head back in time.

Vintage motoring fashion is a major theme at Goodwood Revival, with visitors dressing in their finest period clothing from the Forties, Fifties and Sixties. And you know what that means? Plenty of striped blazers, tweeds and trilbies, frills and big frocks, it is a unique chance for fans to revel in the glamour of motor racing from a by-gone era.

It is a popular event for vintage motor sport enthusiasts who attend in their hundreds. Andrew McDowall, based in Chichester, has been a one stop shop for revival-goers for a number of years, the shop is owned by Andrew Moore, “The well dressed man at the revival could wear a smart striped blazer, or perhaps a fine wool checked sports suit with a waistcoat, check shirt and wool tie, topped off with a fur felt trilby,” he explains.

Glorious Goodwood, Oh so Glorious!

'The racecourse is awash with colour. A vibrant sea of Panamas, Pimm's and panache. The scene is set for the world's greatest horses and jockeys to do battle as they strive for top honours at the iconic festival meeting.Fashion, high society and horseracing all come together for five enthralling days in late July to early August.' GloriousGoodwood.com

Glorious... Summer sunshine, floaty dresses, chilled elderflower G&Ts and evening jazz on the Champagne Lawn...what's not to miss? Glorious Goodwood can only be described as a elaborate garden party with live music in every area and complementary strawberries and cream in abundance. It really is the sporting social highlight of the summer, and most gives Royal Ascot a run for its money in the fashion stakes.

As the fashion stakes are high Perry Club recommend a club blazer, chinos with a subtle hint of something fancy be it a cravat or bowie. We will be on the style hunt for a vintage feel with a modern twist, the typical Perry Club gentleman.

Perry Club congratulate the MPRFC on their performance and were proud to dress such a successful team for the event. The unique embroidery detailing of the blazers was an integral part of the design process for The Metropolitan Police. The detail included initials embroidered on the inside pocket of the blazer, and their unique club crest embroidered onto the breast pocket of the blazer.
