Yorkshire
is the third best region in the world to visit in 2014, according to travel
guide company Lonely Planet. In its new Best in Travel 2014 publication, Lonely
Planet says: “If the good people of Yorkshire were proud of their heritage
before, the 2012 London Olympics only served to cement what they have always
thought: that their county is better than , and really the best of all the English counties. In a list of the top
ten regions around the globe, Yorkshire was placed only below the hotly tipped
and up-and-coming mountainous area of Sikkim in India and the beautiful barren
landscape of The Kimberley on the Western Australian coast. One of the
highlighted attractions to visit within Yorkshire is the Armley Mills, where
Perry originated in 1946, and still situated today close to its original
foundations . Leeds Industrial Museum houses a
wealth of gems located in a beautiful riverside setting. Step back in time to
learn about the industrial history of Leeds manufacturing textiles and see where
your club blazers originated. For further information and tickets visit http://www.leeds.gov.uk/museumsandgalleries/Pages/armleymills.aspx.
