Perry
Club scaled new heights last week as Gavin Winter, MD of The Test People, led
an expedition comprising Leeds businessmen on a charity fundraising for Candle
Lighters, the Yorkshire based children’s cancer charity. Gavin, who
attended the 10,000 small business programme with Perry MD Bernard Bunting,
commented “Well, I did it, summited on Friday morning at about 7:30am,
hardest thing I ever did in my life! I was cursing the weight of my kit on the
final summit attempt but the Perry club blazer made it to the top: durable,
warm – an all weather garment!”
The
origin of the blazer Gavin is wearing above stems from the small business programme where Gavin and Bernard
met . Both are members of the first UK cohort of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small
business programme held at Leeds University. Bernard Bunting fitted every participant with a tailor made jacket in
a crisp striped fabric designed by himself (see center above). The blazers were inspired by the cornflower blue of
the Goldman logo and the “Perry Pink” of Perry Uniform’s logo.
